Can the smaller unit be used to make 2 cups of coffee?

Asked by: teresa
Thanks for the reply - why is it recommended to make the larger size?  What is lost when brewing only 2 cups?

bv1500ts Coffee only comes out of the center jet of the showerhead, then over halfway coffee drips out of 3 more and then 2 more. So only 6 of the 9 available jets work. Just got it today. Top of the unit won't come off to get the showerhead out. ???

Asked by: cedmunds24
To ensure the showerhead is working as designed, please remove the tank lid (see video link below, but note this is using an 1800 series brewer, your showerhead may stay in the lid, if this happens pull straight up on the showerhead to remove from lid) and showerhead, then replace showerhead, ensuring that is pressed down as far as possible. Also, ensure the brewer is placed on a completely flat surface. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGbvp-ky0lk The showerhead is designed to allow an even distribution of water. However, the brewer is not pressurized, so the amount of water coming out of each hole is not regulated. The middle holes usually distribute throughout the brew cycle and the outside holes alternate. The water will cover the entire filter basket and rise slightly above the grounds, allowing for an even extraction. For further assistance, please email customersupport@bonavitaworld.com

what grind of coffee is recommended for this model?

Asked by: honey
We recommend using a medium coarse grind. Typically, about 2 settings coarser than the middle setting on your grinder is best.

I enjoy the 5 cup machine BUT the poor design of the lip on the stainless steel carafe does not allow all of the coffee to be poured.  Will the new glass carafe allow "a full pour"?

Asked by: Rick
Thank you for your feedback. We will take this into consideration in future product planning. The new glass carafe is designed to allow all coffee to be poured. Thank you.
